This time, the Grammy Award-winning hard rock band Skillet has teamed up with Z2 comics, who’ve worked alongside Babymetal and Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides) in the past, to bring their story, Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel, to life. Writers Alex Paknadel and Dan Watters of Random Shock Studios, the same studio that brought you Assassin’s Creed: Uprising and Doctor Who, have been brought onboard to write the comic alongside Skillet.
John Cooper of Skillet says:
“I am beyond thrilled about Eden. It has always been a dream of mine to create a comic. Comics are still an important part of my life today and I can now share that love with my children with the release of this book. In many ways, this graphic novel is a natural extension of Skillet’s career. It is about perseverance, unlikely heroes, and faith in what you believe. I hope that the fans love it!”
The comic book tells the story of the two main characters, John and Korey (based on the real-life Coopers), who must uncover what lies behind a prophecy threatening to consume them in order to save their family and town. The main characters, alongside bandmates Seth Morrison and Jen Ledger, set out on a quest that takes them through the barren wastelands and gleaming cities of a near-future Tennessee to tell a tale about survival, determination, and strength of personal beliefs.
