Jesus Fucking Christ, White Wizzard Have Reunited (Again?), for Fuck’s Sake

White Wizzard’s history is filled with so many lineup changes and rife with over the top (pardon the pun!) public drama that I completely lost track of the band, as did the rest of the metal world. Come to think of it, the band officially “broke up” last year and I didn’t even report on it, because who the fuck even cares anymore? White Wizzard released a promising EP and a solid follow-up full-length in 2009/2010 on the front wave of the retro/trad metal revival and seemed poised for big things, then shit hit the fan and the band became a Jon Leon solo project, which in turn became a punchline.

In any case, almost exactly one year ago — April 24th, 2018 — Leon announced the end of White Wizzard, stating “So unfortunately I have to announce that White Wizzard is over. There will be no more albums or live shows.” But — PSYCH!!!! — he’s back! And this time he’s got a who’s who of ex-White Wizzard members returning to the fold. I’d tell you when each of them was in the band previously, and what their contributions were, but does it really matter? Even if this iteration sticks together for long enough to jump in a van and fill it with farts as it traverses the finest dive bars the U.S. has to offer, the collective stench of Leon’s smelly anus long ago turned off the metal world at large. Here are the names of the fellas currently indulged in the Jon Leon Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp Experience:

Mikey Dean Gremio – vocals
James J. LaRue – guitar
Will Wallner – guitar
Jon Leon – bass
Devin Lebsack – drums

Big ups to Loudwire for this breaking news. Leon says he’s got an “arsenal” of material written for a new album and plans to launch a Kickstarter to fund it… but that hasn’t happened yet, naturally. STAY TUNED!!!
