Silly Goose, the rising nü-metal band making waves for their unconventional guerrilla-style performances, made headlines again over the weekend — but this time for all the wrong reasons. Vocalist Jackson Foster was arrested on August 2 after the band performed an impromptu set at a BP gas station in Chicago, just one day after playing Lollapalooza 2025.
The Atlanta-based group has built a reputation for taking their music directly to the people, often setting up in parking lots, street corners, and other nontraditional spaces to grab attention and connect with fans. This gas station performance was just another in their long list of spontaneous shows — until it wasn't.
According to Foster, Silly Goose had received permission from BP employees to play at the location. Despite this, police intervened, and Foster was taken into custody. He's now facing a criminal trespassing charge, which he says is completely unfounded.
In a statement shared on the band's social media, Silly Goose addressed the incident: "I got arrested Saturday night at the BP. Sunday night we went right across the street with a sign and a speaker to keep getting the word out there. Stream the new songs 'Keys to the City' and 'Now Dance'."
Foster also posted his own follow-up message, clarifying the situation: "To anyone who is curious: I got charged with criminal trespassing (which is bs because the employees at the gas station gave us permission to play there) and I"ll be back in Chicago September 2nd to appear in court. I"ll post a full video explaining once I get home."
Silly Goose has been steadily gaining traction in the nü-metal and alternative scenes for their raw energy, wild stage antics, and rebellious marketing tactics. Their performances often go viral for their chaotic, DIY nature — an approach that blends the unpredictability of punk rock with nü-metal's aggressive, crowd-grabbing personality.
With Foster due back in Chicago on September 2 for a court appearance, the band is leaning into the publicity, urging fans to check out their latest singles while continuing to push their outsider ethos. If anything, the incident may have only cemented Silly Goose's reputation as one of the most unpredictable and rule-breaking acts in heavy music today.
